Presenting the Alku: A name for verse between 2 - 7 lines

I often write short verse and was looking for a name for poems that are short, and do not fit into the category of haiku, senryu, and other such poetic structures with their many constraints. After an unsuccessful search I decided to coin a term myself. Thus was born the 'Alku'.

The Alku tries to break free of corset-like forms and other norms that bundle such free short verse under 'verse' or 'short verse'- two rather general and tame labels. Inclusive in nature, it is a super-set of all poetic forms between 2 - 7 lines.
