Onions

Oil pastels on rough cardboard. 22x28 cms.
For a change am posting the output of my relatively recent hobby - i.e. painting.

These white onions were just begging to be sketched since I bought them. They usually appear in the markets in India around February.
The green shoots are spliced together and the bunches are hung out to dry.

They taste delicious chopped rough, with a little salt and lemon juice.
