I love you..

My fingers glide smoothly
across your lovely expanse

Unblemished,
a swathe alabaster
across which
cherished thoughts
run free
bathed in finest gel.

Hey, be careful
of that strong breeze.
oh, no! you can’t just sail away
with my treasure like that!

You insouciant bit of paper,
I hate you!

  1. Possibly inscribed, in blood, on a rival (& now triumphant) rectangle of white expanse?

    But why blame the paper
for the thievery of the wind?
might as well blame the garden
for the action of the rain
    perchance the page pines for
    the words you've not penned
    perhaps some fresh gale will
    return it safe again . . .

    cheers,
    d.i.

  2. Dew lays on the petal of Rose. Cajoles and cuddles the rose and makes it realise that it's beautiful.
But, then comes the sun and dew evaporates.
Rose never blames the dew drop for disappearing, rather looks at the sun with admiration, where its lover resides now.....
and waits for the next morning

    Beautiful poetry!

  3. This is really very sweet. The surprise is the spoiler - it's a good surprise alright, but loses the lrrical quality of the earlier stanzas.

  4. thx DRI, Kandarp and Raamesh, the poem was a response to a caferati post abt witing a poem which starts with 'I love you' and ends with 'I hate you'.. so yes, some lyrical quality may hv been sacrificed in achieving this griffy cause..
